Finding the Wedding Dress
If you are willing and able, I recommend giving yourself 9 months to fully plan your wedding. It also gives you plenty of time to find a dress. Alterations are no joke!
I initially went to three bridal salons in my area. The first salon was the best experience I could have asked for to kick start my journey of finding the dress. My name was on a sign outside, I had the sweetest consultant and basically the whole salon to myself. I found a dress I thought for sure was mine and it definitely came in as runner up!
The third was perfection and obviously won me over because I found my dress here. I walked in to meet Judy. She was the best! It was a smaller space but no one else was there (any of the times I went) so it felt like our little spot! We had champagne, massive mirrors and a separate dressing room where Judy helped me get in and out of the dresses. It was the second dress I tried on but once she put on the veil…that was it! Well…I tried on a few more then took a couple of days, went to one more salon and then came back to say yes to the dress! But still, deep down I knew that second dress was mine the minute the veil went on. You can tell in a few of the pictures below! My entire experience at Julian Gold Bridal with Judy was amazing. Fittings, text updates on my dress, and a cake with champagne to celebrate when my actual dress came in. I felt so special throughout the process!
From the time I said yes to the dress until it arrived in store was around 5 months. Then alterations took around 2.5 months and I didn’t have a lot of changes to make! So all in all, it was right under 8 months from the time I said yes until I picked up my dress for good.
Now pass the bubbly,
Jess
