Welcome to The Champagne of Life!

I’m Jessica but my friends call me Jess! I’m so glad you’re here and excited for you to get to know me a little better.

I was born and raised in Houston, Texas and now reside in Austin. I’m an only child who grew up playing make believe and dressing like Disney princesses, which I think is where my creativity first sparked. I went to The University of Texas at Austin (Hook’Em!) and majored in Advertising with a Business minor.

I fell in love with events my Sophomore year when I found a student lead organization at UT called Texas Belles. I honestly never looked back in the rearview mirror, from that year on, I wanted to be an event planner.

After college, I stayed in Austin and started working for a boutique event production and design company. For six years, I planned a variety of events from backyard BBQs to weddings and non-profit galas to 3-day corporate conferences. From there, I moved to an in-house meeting planner role where I worked until COVID had other plans. Since being laid-off, I’ve had an overwhelming desire to find a creative outlet so I started thinking about what it is that brings me joy and makes me feel alive.

Four things came to mind: writing, fashion, community and events. These four pieces have always been a part of my life. I’ve always found peace in writing, $100 missing after a trip to Target, and going all in for the organizations that I’m passionate about. The glue that holds it all together is hands down my love of events and how it has inspired me throughout the years.

My hope is that The Champagne of Life is a place where we celebrate community, life moments and anything that sparks joy! This blog is going to be real talk, real life and a little bit of champagne. The goal is that you leave my blog or Instagram feeling inspired, encouraged and seen. I want this space to bring us together and expand the amazing community of bloggers that are already out there.
