Engagement Session Attire

I loved doing an engagement session, but I had no idea what to wear! Today my bridal tip comes from one of the most talented photographers I’ve had the pleasure of working with, Julie Wilhite! Not only had I worked with her on many a wedding prior to my engagement, but when it was time to decide who would photograph our big day, we of course wanted Julie! So, first piece of advice, find yourself a photographer you trust, get along with and value the work they’ve done in the past.

When I was talking to her about what I should wear, she said a flowy maxi dress. I was only doing one look, so it was important to me to spend time finding a dress I wouldn’t mind seeing photos of forever. After seeing the pictures, this is the biggest piece of advice I can give for engagement sessions. Make sure you have a flowy dress for at least one of the looks. It created so much depth and movement in the photos. A lot of it had to do with location and her styling / skills in general but the dress was just the cherry on top.
