“Coffee, Coffee, Coffee” – Lorelai Gilmore

I honestly don’t remember when I started drinking coffee. I think I was out of college or maybe a senior. That has since changed! I am definitely that person who needs to have coffee to feel awake in the morning. I am also the person who can have a cup of strong coffee at 9pm and fall asleep watching TV 30 minutes later! In the words of Lorelai Gilmore…

“I can’t stop drinking the coffee, I stop drinking the coffee, I stop doing the standing, and the walking, and the words-putting-into-sentences doing.”

Anyways, I’ve seen so many fall Starbucks drinks on Instagram since PSL season went in full effect. So, I decided to pick up the top three I’ve seen, grab a friend and review. You might be wondering if someone asked me to do this…no definitely not. However, I’ve had two staple drinks at Starbucks for years and it felt like a good time to branch out!

First up, a dirty chai latte with a fall twist. The exact order was an iced dirty chai with almond milk, 2 shots of espresso and instead of the normal 4 pumps of chai - make it 2 and add 2 of pumpkin. This wasn’t even the most complicated order! One of my staples is a chai latte with almond milk (sometimes a dirty chai) so you know I am a fan! I also have to admit that I have gotten the iced chai with 2 chai and 2 pumpkin and that was delicious! However, I think adding the 2 shots of espresso added too many flavors for me. My friend is not a huge fan of pumpkin, so this was a no for her. I have to agree, it came in 3rd for me.

Second, the iced cocoa cloud macchiato with almond milk. This was by far my favorite! The mix of espresso and toffee nut syrup with the caramel/mocha swirl. It has such a nice balance of strong coffee and sweetness (but not too sweet). It’s not a drink I would get every time I go but it’s the perfect treat for a self-care Sunday or just because you want one! My friend ranked this second. Good news for me since I wanted to drink all of it!

Last but not least and the most complicated of orders, the salted cream cold brew. The exact order was iced with almond milk but remove the caramel syrup then add 1 pump of pumpkin and 1 of white chocolate mocha sauce. The foam on top was a little too sweet – it honestly reminded me of a Frappuccino. This ranked second for me. I would get it again if I had a major craving for sweets. My friend however looooved it. Needless to say, she got to drink this one!

All in all, some really great drinks for the fall! However, I would recommend not ordering them all at the same time and definitely do it over the app. My app wasn’t working and when I got to the order window…well they were not my biggest fan.

Cheers to PSL season and hopefully cooler weather!

Now pass the bubbly,

Jess
