Favorite Summer Cocktails!

Texas Summers can be a real scorcher. Having lived in the state my whole life, you would think I’d be used to it. Alas, I am not! I admit, I sometimes still forget that if I walk outside in jeans on a 100+ degree day, I’m going to melt before I get to my car. And don’t even get me started on the humidity (at least it’s not as bad as Houston though)!

My favorite thing to do in the Summer is to sip on a refreshing cocktail, especially when paired with friends by the pool or out at the lake! I’ve rounded up a few of my go-to recipes whether you prefer it blended or shaken! 

Frosé has been my number one this Summer. There’s a local spot in town called Hank’s that makes the BEST frosé but when I can’t get over to that side of town, this recipe from Bon Appetit hits the spot!

I do add a touch more lemon juice and maybe a splash of Tito’s Vodka ;)

Margaritas will always be a staple here in Texas. I mean can you even have queso and guacamole without a margarita?! Here is a simple yet delicious recipe from Delish.

PS. Has anyone tried Teremana Tequila Blanco courtesy of The Rock? I’ve seen so many people trying it that I’ve got serious FOMO aka I need to find some stat!

Blackberry Champagne Mule is what I call the elevated Moscow Mule. I have loved Moscow Mules for years so when I saw this recipe on Half Baked Harvest’s site…I was sold! You take the traditional Moscow Mule - vodka, lime and ginger beer but THEN add blackberries and champagne!! Perfect summer sip!

Side note, I’ve never been a bourbon girl but I’m currently watching a few TV shows where the main characters drink bourbon all the time. Now…I oddly want to try bourbon! I saw Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley are coming out with Brother’s Bond Bourbon – maybe I’ll have to try that!
