Favorite Hair Products
Over the years, I have gone through a number of products, oils, masks, etc. for my hair. I have long hair and started coloring it around 8 years ago. Since then, I’ve noticed my ends get dry and living in the Texas heat creates a lovely frizz! Over the last few years, I’ve really narrowed down the products I’ll use on my hair and have noticed a big difference. I wanted to share my favorites with you!
Kristin Ess is hands down, one of my favorites! Her products are affordable, and I just keep going back for more! Originally, I bought her signature shampoo and conditioner. I never was one to use products that required a waiting period, so I was hesitant at first about the conditioner because it mentions letting it sit on the hair for 3 minutes. Haha - I know, I know it’s only 3 minutes but at 6am when getting ready for work, that seems like an eternity! However, once I tried it, I was hooked! It helps my ends stay looking healthy and less dry. I also use the weightless shine leave-in conditioner. I spray about 3-5 pumps on wet hair before I blow dry. Its main purpose is to help detangle and it does a nice job of keeping it that way throughout the day. Next, I use the style reviving dry shampoo. I’ve tried a few brands but keep going back to this. It’s come in handy as I have tried to stop washing my hair as frequently as I used to.
I also love the ultra-fine working texture hairspray and refine signature finishing spray. I lean towards the texture spray only because the finishing spray can sometimes give your hair the crunchy hairspray texture – you know what I mean! Last but not least, the strand strengthening reconstructive moisture mask. This is by far my FAVE out of this bunch! I use it twice a week in between my shampoo and conditioner. It reminds me of when I go to the salon! Not only does this product give your hair a little extra love but it kept my quarantine hair (aka 9 months of no hair cut) looking fresh and healthy!
Next on the list is R&Co’s Sail soft wave spray. One of my staples! This product is super lightweight and gives my hair more texture. I usually pull all my hair to one side and spray 3-4 times from the middle to end - leaving the roots untouched. Using my straightener to curl my hair, this product can help me create either a more voluminous wave for a night out or a natural beach wave for every day!
Two products I just recently started using are Ouai and SGX NYC but after only a few uses, I wanted to share how much I’m liking them.
Ouai’s wave spray is luxurious! You can spray it on damp or dry hair to activate natural waves. My favorite part is the fragrances they used when making the product. It literally smells like you just came back from a day at the beach drinking coconut waters. SO good and now I want to go to the beach!
SGX NYC Hair IQ 10-in-1 Leave-in Treatment has already made a difference and I’ve only used it a few times. It’s packed with nutrient-rich ingredients such as biotin, hibiscus extract and hyaluronic acid to help repair damaged hair. Since I do use my straightener often, my hair tends to need a pick-me-up. This will surely become my go-to AND I picked it up for $7 at Target!
